Very funny, but you should make it clear that you say some things in jest or readers like Keith Brown will misunderstand. I am waiting for a commentary on “babies in the womb”. We love those too.

I was married a Proetsant, had two children and was under extreme pressure to ‘allow’ my wife to go back to work. She begged me not to make her leave her mothering to someone else.

We became Catholics, and have just had our 6th child a month ago.

At 3 children we were frowned upon by Protestants, applauded by Catholics
At 4 we were lectured by Protestants, hearty handshakes from Catholics
At 5 … there was silence from all sources Protestant, Catholics offered to babysit
At 6 … awe from Protestants, Catholics gave pre-made frozen dinner and offered to do some laundry.

When people say, “You will be stopping now won’t you?” I answer (with a straight face) “What? Sex?” But my daughter had the best answer. Before I could deliver one of my silly lines she answered such a comment with “Well no! We still have two more seats in the car!” and followed up with “Daddy, can you drive a bus?”

While I like the idea of having a large family, my wife and I started late and may end up with, at most, seven (she likes them spaced), I must take issue with catholic families as baby factories. Making babies is a cottage industry, where craftspeople seldom have more than one piece at the go at a time.

My wife laughs at my attempts to unchain her, and, to my continual embarassment, refuses to wear socks while she does the dishes.
